      Member of Destination Imagination team since 2nd grade.  Our team won regional and state level competitions several times, and competed at Global Finals three times.

Minnesota Historical Society – 1968 Project Film Competition

      Member of IFP Media Arts – Youth Workshop group that won Generations Award (Sept 2009) for our film, “Gone Fishing: The West Bank’s Forgotten Scene”

       

Volunteer Activities

     Karen Refugee Literacy Baskets

            My DI Team completed a Community Outreach Project challenge that raised over $1,000 to create and deliver literacy baskets for pre-K and Kindergarten refugee children in our community.

     North Metro Summer Academy Program for Gifted & Talented

            Teacher Assistant in 3 week summer enrichment program 2009 and 2011

Worked with 2 classes: From Story to Stage (play writing course for 2-3rd graders and Kovacs & Associates (legal career class for 4-6th graders)

      Destination Imagination (DI) Co-Coach

            Work with another high school student to coach a DI team of 6-7th grade boys (2010-2011, 2011-2012)


Other Activities

      Camp St. Croix Leadership Development Program, Summer 2011

            Participated in 4 week program that included 18 day trail experience (Camp Widjiwagan BWCA trip & Rock Climbing at Shovelhead, Tettegouche State Park) plus volunteer counselor at overnight camp, LDP service                             project and overnight solo.  Camp St. Croix has asked me, and I am looking forward to working as an overnight camp counselor in their 2012 summer program.
